The Victoria office of e2 Electrical Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to play a key role in growing the business and enhancing the quality of our electrical engineering drawings and services. The successful candidate will bring significant experience in electrical building consulting and demonstrate strong proficiency with construction and consulting codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the electrical engineering of multiple projects of varying complexity and size, ensuring high-quality deliverables across all stages of design and construction.
  • Lead the design and delivery of electrical engineering projects across one or more business sectors, in collaboration with the Principal-in-Charge.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers, supporting both technical growth and professional development.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by supporting proposal preparation, including actively writing responses to RFPs.
  • Assist with the achievement of business goals by identifying opportunities for efficiency, innovation, and client satisfaction.
  • Help refine project management processes and procedures to improve efficiency and consistency across the firm.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the BC Building Code and Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and standards, and communicate requirements effectively to project teams, clients, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Apply knowledge of construction project procurement methodologies, recommending or implementing the most suitable approach for each project.
  • Review and approve project deliverables, including reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications, for accuracy and completeness at various stages, in alignment with internal quality management standards.
  • Promote and uphold company standards related to project administration, documentation, and quality control.
  • Prepare and monitor project schedules, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within allocated budgets.
  • Lead and participate in meetings with clients, consultants, and project teams.
  • Develop or support the creation of system design briefs, concept reports, and design documentation, ensuring alignment with construction budgets.
  • Respond to both technical and financial queries related to projects in a timely and professional manner.
  • Oversee both technical and non-technical aspects of project delivery, ensuring smooth coordination across all disciplines.
  • Work with designers and project managers to develop calculations, equipment selections, and drawings, delegating appropriately to designers and CAD technicians.
  • Conduct or coordinate site reviews of existing installations and assess their impact on project design.
  • Ensure proper coordination of documents and deliverables with both internal and external stakeholders, including architects, interior designers, and other consultants.
  • Collaborate with administrative staff to support contract administration, drawing reviews, and site activities.
  • Review and prepare change notices in coordination with designers and project managers.
  • Ensure project tasks are delivered accurately, efficiently, and within the allocated fee structure.
  • Support project financials, including accounts receivable processes as required.
