DRS Pivotal Power, Inc. is located in Bedford, Nova Scotia. DRS Pivotal Power is a leader in the design, development and manufacture of high reliability power conversion equipment for mission critical applications supporting all branches of the military in Canada, the US and many countries abroad. All products are designed and manufactured in house by our growing team of over 100 employees. DRS Pivotal Power is part of the Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics group and has currently over 30,000 fielded units boasting a field reliability of over 99%.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Senior Director Site Lead will manage and direct all facets of the work site located at our Bedford, NS office. They will be responsible for multiple functions including some or all of the following: manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, program management and local staff functions such as program finance, human resources and security.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic oversight and coordination of all site operations encompassing production, product development, quality assurance, supply chain management, environmental health and safety, as well as facilities management.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to meet production milestones, program requirements and facilities budgets.
  • Collaborate with program management, engineering and program finance to support contract deliverable and modifications.
  • Champion lean manufacturing, 6S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to all DoD, ITAR, ISO and AS standards.
  • Partner with Quality and other functions to maintain audit readiness and corrective action tracking.
  • Provide high level sponsorship of quality, customer satisfaction and employee retention initiatives.
  • Oversee site-level budget planning and cost control.
  • Ensure efficient allocation of resources including materials, personnel and equipment.
  • Participate in the development of operational objectives and long- and short-term planning for the organization.
  • Advise senior leadership of business opportunities, challenges, and risks.
  • Represent the Company as appropriate in its relationships with major customers, suppliers, competitors, government agencies, professional societies, and similar groups.
  • Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and development opportunities for direct reports.
  • Manage workforce planning, hiring, training and performance management.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
Qualifications
  • 15+ Years experience in site management and people leadership
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong business acumen to forge a successful business strategy for the organization
  • Exemplary leadership ability
  • Strong interpersonal verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Excellent planning and organization, project management, and time management skills
  • Ability to work on extremely complex problems
  • Ability to motivate and adapt to change driving toward success.
