Responsibilities
- Implement PostgreSQL database clusters with replication
- Manage database security, integrity, and backup procedures
- Upgrade database instances from lower versions to current versions
- Assist with database design, development, and query tuning
- Independently manage MongoDB installations and configurations in Linux environments and cloud (GCP)
- Implement multi-data center replica sets and sharded clusters across Linux platforms and MongoDB Atlas on GCP
- Ensure database security with knowledge of audit, security, backup/recovery, and encryption at rest
- Tackle complex problems through conceptualization and reasoning
Qualifications
- 10+ years as a Database Administrator
- Strong PostgreSQL skills from version 13 to current
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB Enterprise and MongoDB Atlas
- Proficient in configuring MongoDB in a Linux environment and cloud
- Experience with implementing multi-data center replica sets and sharded clusters
- Knowledge of audit processes, security measures, encryption at rest, and MongoDB version upgrades
- Prior Scotia experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- The ideal candidate would have experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB and be competent working with Linux and GCP or another Cloud Platform
- Bachelor’s degree or related work experience
