We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our growing Engineering team. You will play a critical role in designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and platforms that power advanced analytics, personalization, and AI/ML capabilities across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Design & Build Data Pipelines
    • Develop, maintain, and optimize scalable, secure, and reliable data pipelines using Airflow, DBT, BigQuery, and other GCP‑native tools.
    • Implement real‑time and batch data ingestion from diverse internal and external sources.
  • Data Modeling & Transformation
    • Build robust data models that enable analytics, personalization, and reporting use cases.
    • Apply best practices for data quality, lineage, and governance.
  • Cloud‑Native Architecture
    • Architect and optimize data solutions leveraging GCP services (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Composer, Cloud Storage).
    • Implement CI/CD pipelines for data workflows, ensuring automation and repeatability.
  • Collaboration & Enablement
    • Partner with product, data science, and analytics teams to design data solutions that power business insights and ML models.
    • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and establish best practices in cloud data engineering.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize pipeline performance.
    • Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with at least 3+ years building in GCP environments.
  • Deep hands‑on experience with:
    • BigQuery (query optimization, partitioning, clustering, cost management)
    • DBT (modular data transformation, testing, documentation)
    • Airflow / Cloud Composer (workflow orchestration, DAG design, scheduling)
  • Strong background in SQL and at least one programming language (Python preferred).
  • Experience designing scalable ETL/ELT frameworks, real‑time streaming, and batch processing.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data governance, and data quality frameworks.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to operate in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments.
  • Exposure to machine learning pipelines and integration with AI/ML platforms.
  • Experience with other GCP services: Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Looker.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager).
  • Financial services, marketing technology, or personalization experience.
