Our client, which is in Oil & Gas Industry in Canada, is looking to hire a Senior Data & Analytics Analyst for a 12-month contract. The role is currently a hybrid model operating 4 days onsite with the office located in Calgary, Alberta. This role also has a possibility to extend further.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to streamline reporting processes.
• Develop and maintain reporting logic using code (Databricks).
• Automate standard reporting deliverables and explore self-serve options.
• Visualize datasets using PowerBI or Spotfire.
• Create standardized and ad-hoc reports to meet diverse needs.
• Ensure compliance with reporting standards.
• Train colleagues for independent reporting management.
• Continuously enhance financial and operational data analysis.

Must Haves

• Minimum 8 years of experience in data science, analytics, with a focus on automation and tool development
• Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Databricks
• Experience working with Git and related tools (Gitlab, Github)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in SQL and either R or Python.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Spotfire.
• Familiarity with Git and cloud data platforms like Databricks.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Experience working with financial or operational data in the energy industry.
• Certification in relevant programming languages or data analytics tools.
