Qualifications

About this Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of Engineering, the Senior Civil Engineering Technologist is responsible for providing clear direction, overseeing technical reviews, and reporting related to development applications and infrastructure projects ensuring they conform to WFN laws, policies and best practices. This position requires strong leadership, decision-making skills, and accountability.

  • Provides leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to the engineering team, fostering professional development and team growth
  • Acts as a key liaison between internal teams, external contractors, consultants, and government agencies to facilitate seamless project delivery
  • Provides high-level technical input and makes informed decisions regarding design methodologies, construction techniques, and material selection
  • Champions best practices in project management, risk mitigation, and sustainable engineering solutions to enhance overall project performance
  • Provides technical reviews of development applications and other projects ensuring submissions are designed according to WFNs laws, policies, industry best practices and long-term strategic goals


Must Haves:

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field with professional technical accreditation
  • Certification or registration as a Civil Engineering Technologist with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in civil engineering with demonstrated experience in land development, construction and municipal infrastructure
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role
