What is the opportunity?

The Senior Actuarial Analyst, Annuities & Other Benefits supports the valuation team of Group Annuity (Pension Risk Transfer) portfolio and Individual Annuity portfolio as well as the portfolio of other benefits to perform financial reporting on monthly basis and support the creation of Appointed Actuary Report (AAR) every fiscal year. This role also supports the annual experience studies regarding its portfolios and supports the risk review of Group Annuity deal quotes. The role offers high visibility and the opportunity to work with the high-volume new business block to shape future direction and priorities.

What will you do?
Month-end Valuation and Reporting
  • Support an actuarial valuation team to perform the production of results during every month-end close period under IFRS17 framework
  • Support the improvement and maintenance of the Earnings by Source statement to help explain financial results.
  • Support the improvement and maintenance of CSM rollforward for the respective portfolios.
Experience Studies and Others
  • Conduct and complete the annual experience studies to analyze the experience emergence of respective portfolios.
  • Work with finance, risk and audit teams to ensure data accuracy and model transparency
  • Other ad-hoc related work as assigned by various stakeholders
What will you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • Experience with GGY AXIS
  • Familiarity with insurance product modeling, pricing, or valuation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical results to non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to collaborate in a team environment and manage competing priorities
  • Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science or a related discipline
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or close to ASA exam progress.
Nice to have
  • Working experience with Power BI, R or Tableau
  • Experience working with teams across different platforms
  • Prior knowledge with living benefits products is an asset
