Responsibilities

  • Work with the Controller on the Revenue Recognition and % Completions.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Monthly Financials.
  • Perform month end closing and ensure all sub-ledgers are closed.
  • Assist the Controller with Cash Forecast and milestone payments.
  • Prepare data and reports for Audit.

Job description

The Senior Accountant will contribute to the overall efficient operations of the Finance department by maintaining the general ledger and month end close cycle, costings, and analysis of performance. The role also requires assisting theController in various projects within the organization, as well as meeting with different project managers, engineers, and business partners to work on analysis of jobs and measuring the performance of these jobs.

You will:

  • Work with the Controller on the Revenue Recognition and % Completions on Projects monthly
  • Assist in the preparation of the Monthly Financials as per requirements of management
  • Monthly job and project analysis
  • Perform month end closing and ensure that all sub-ledgers were closed every period
  • Analysis on expenses for Material, Labour, Indirect costs, SG&A
  • Assist the Controller with the Cash Forecast, especially on milestone payments and AR
  • Prepare Bank and Payroll reports in a timely manner
  • Work on various projects as assigned by Management
  • Prepare data and reports for Audit
  • Liaise with various departments to ensure closing is planned and done accordingly
  • Partner with each department, define the needs and provide adequate support for analysis and decision making
  • Monitor the PO receiving with Supply Chain to ensure POs are posted on time to get accurate Financials
  • Assisting the Controller with Forecasting and Budgeting process and analysis required
  • Prepare data needed for insurance renewals
  • Fixed Assets maintenance and registers
  • Participate in project meetings and provide information to the group for decision making on projects
  • Review cycle count, full inventory count and adjustments in the system
  • Analyze and identify employee inefficiencies and areas of concerns for management
