Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will function as a key member supporting the month‑end close and year‑end in the areas of operations manufacturing, management, and general ledger accounting of inventory. This individual will collaborate with the FP&A Manager and support Finance business functions, building a thorough understanding of business operations and accounting and financial reporting.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Management of RM, WIP, FG and In‑transit inventory sub‑ledgers.
- Allocation of inventory and other expenses to cost centers (CC).
- Work actively with the Purchasing team on the EE&O Reserve Quarterly Analysis.
- Participating in the Materials Review Board (MRB) to identify scrap provisions in line with NCEP (Nonconformance) policies.
- Reclass and revision of Non‑R&D Allocation to R&D Charges.
- Knowledge of Purchasing, R&D and Regulatory procedures.
- Be able to identify and reclass Scrap from Production Order Variances to inventory.
- Prepare general ledger inventory accounts reconciliations.
- Proactively investigate and resolve reconciling items, if any.
- Implementation of internal control requirements to ensure processes are in place that comply with inventory counting, scrap and reserves financial reporting requirements.
- Monitor and prepare journal entries required to adhere with inventory accounting policies and standards on a monthly and year‑end basis.
- Deep dive involvement into Inventory procedures, business processes, and account balances.
- Participate in the development and updating of inventory transfers, with operations management and team leaders.
- Collaborate with the FP&A team to support forecast, budget, and analysis as needed.
- Summarize findings and meaningful analysis that are responsive to business needs to facilitate efficient and effective management decision making.
- Support audit and compliance requirements.
- Participate in ad hoc special projects and analysis as required.
- Adhere to Corporate and Quality policies and procedures.
- Other duties as required.
Required qualifications:
- 3+ years of comprehensive accounting and costing expertise
- Advanced academic qualification in accounting
- Proficiency in SAP software
- In‑depth understanding of accounting principles and methodologies
- Experience in general ledger operations and the procedures for month‑end/year‑end closures
- Advanced level of understanding of Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, acute attention to detail
- Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills to effectively work and communicate with all levels in the organization
- Ability to adapt, learn quickly and work independently on multiple priorities
- Excellent organizational, time management, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to contribute effectively to team objectives
Preferred qualifications:
- Related experience in the manufacturing of medical device industry
- Strong technical background in inventory management
- Proven experience in cost accounting in the manufacturing environment
- Experience with Intercompany trade shipments
- Experience with FP&A analysis and procedures
