Position: Security Team Lead
Site: CF Markville Mall
City: Markham
Status: Full-Time - Days
Hours: Continental Days - Week 1 - 1000 to 2000 hrs
Week 2 - 1100 to 2300 hrs
Pay Rate: $20.55/hr

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the security team during daily operations.
  • Supervise staff performance, maintain staffing coverage, and ensure all team members follow established procedures.
  • Respond to and manage incidents, emergencies, and security concerns in a calm and professional manner.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the property to ensure a secure and safe environment.
  • Prepare incident reports, documentation, and follow‑up summaries as required.
  • Coordinate with mall management, tenants, contractors, and emergency services when necessary.
  • Assist in training new security staff and promoting consistent adherence to protocols.
  • Monitor CCTV systems and access control points as needed.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of safety processes and incident‑response plans.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum 2–3 years of security experience, preferably in a retail or commercial environment.
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Knowledge of Trespass to Property Act, Criminal Code, and emergency response procedures.
  • Proficiency in report writing and basic computer skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Prerequisites
  • Legally Authorized to Work in Canada Full-Time
  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB‑approved vendor)
  • Valid G Drivers Licence
  • Proof of Covid Vaccine two doses
