Job Description

Allied Universal is currently searching for a Security Guard Supervisor - Luxury Mall.

Position: Full‑Time, Permanent

Pay‑rate: $23.00 to $24.00 per hour

Location: North York, ON

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, professional, and highly engaged Security Guard Supervisor - Luxury Mall to join our team at a premier luxury shopping centre in the heart of Toronto. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring a premium guest experience through exceptional leadership, proactive safety oversight, and a commitment to excellence in service delivery.

As the Security Guard Supervisor, you will oversee day‑to‑day security operations, support performance development, respond to incidents, and ensure compliance with legislation, site standards, and client expectations. You will act as a visible leader and ambassador of both public safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and support to a team of security guards.
  • Conduct on‑shift briefings, assign patrol responsibilities, and ensure operational readiness.
  • Assist in staff onboarding, performance evaluations, coaching conversations, and ongoing development.
  • Maintain a positive, professional culture aligned with luxury brand expectations.

Safety & Security Operations

  • Ensure the safety of guests, tenants, and employees through proactive patrols and monitoring.
  • Respond to emergencies, disturbances, medical events, alarms, and escalations in a calm, controlled manner.
  • Lead incident response, ensuring accurate documentation and follow‑up.
  • Oversee key control, access management, CCTV use, and adherence to privacy and security protocols.

Customer Service & Client Engagement

  • Provide service that reflects the standards of a luxury retail environment—professional, discreet, and attentive.
  • Support tenants and guests with inquiries, directions, escorts, and security requests.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with mall management, retailers, contractors, and emergency services.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure enforcement of site rules, policies, and relevant legislation including the Trespass to Property Act, Criminal Code of Canada, and OHSA requirements.
  • Complete detailed, accurate reports including incident logs, shift summaries, and escalation documentation.
  • Participate in audits, hazard assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Minimum 1‑2 years in a supervisory, team lead, or acting supervisor role.
  • ValidOntario Security Guard License in good standing.
  • ValidFirst Aid & CPR (Level C).
  • Demonstrated experience working in one of the following environments: luxury retail, shopping centres, hospitality, corporate security, or high‑profile public venues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada and pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Standard/Emergency First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada up to 40 hours a week.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Physically fit: able to stand/walk for long periods, climb stairs, and occasionally lift/carry up to 20 kg.
