Position Summary

Reporting to the Shift Team Lead, this position is responsible for Blasting and Finishing Bottles in the Epox Department in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain the bottle blast area and PPE (personal protective equipment) on a daily basis
  • Prepare parts for blast operation according to work instructions and department procedures
  • Set up and operate a variety of machines and hand tools to prepare molded parts for paint
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Monitor the condition of the equipment and tooling
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Inspect all work prior to passing it on to the next operation
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms
  • Keep tools and equipment operational by completing routine preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
  • Perform finishing and cleaning work on molded products
  • Dispose of hazardous chemicals properly
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of finishing tasks as needed
  • Inspect all work prior to passing it on to the next operation
  • This position requires the use of a respirator, therefore, all candidates must be clean shaven
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development required
  • 0-1 year of prior experience working in a manufacturing environment required
  • Must be able to safety use small hand and power tools
  • Must be able to read and interpret Drawings and Bills of Materials
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Must be able to troubleshoot routine equipment problems

  • Light Lifting (occasional 25 lbs or less)
  • Standing – continuous
  • Walking – continuous
  • Bending/stooping – continuous
  • Squatting/kneeling – continuous
  • Lifting – continuous
  • Sitting – occasional
  • Lift up to 35 lbs. on a frequent basis at floor to waist
  • Carry up to 35 lbs on an occasional basis up to 25 feet
  • Griping, manipulation, fingering – frequent to continuous
  • Variable hand/power tool use – frequent
