Overview
Performance Health is seeking a Sales Leader - Canada to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and executing the commercial strategy across Canada. This role manages a team of sales consultants, oversees key account, and Group Purchasing Organization's (GPO's), while collaborating cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Experience, and Distribution teams to ensure alignment with the overall North American goals. The position requires strong leadership, deep market knowledge, and a strategic approach to building and growing business within Canada.
Responsibilities
- Sales Leadership & Strategy
- Motivate and support the Canadian sales team to understand and execute the commercial strategy, driving high performance and accountability.
- Collaborate with the Sales Leadership to set sales goals and targets that align with the broader North American strategy.
- Develop, implement, and maintain sales plans and quotas for the Canadian region.
- Provide leadership in line with company policies and actively communicate and reinforce the corporate vision.
- Identify and develop Canada-specific sales strategies and tactics.
- Maintain business relationships with national and provincial bodies as needed
- Sales Operations & Management
- Manage a first-class sales process, including :
- Sales pipeline development
- GPO and key account communications
- Sales metrics and reporting (monthly, annual forecasting)
- Timely follow-up and accountability for results
- Deliver consistent, clear, and timely reports that build confidence among company leadership and distributors.
- Team Development
- Directly manage a current team of three salespeople, ensuring development, performance, and alignment with strategy.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and train sales consultants to uphold high standards of performance.
- Provide continuous support, training, and tools to improve product knowledge and selling capabilities.
- Key Account & Customer Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for Canadian priority public / private GPO's.
- Perform high-level SAE (Strategic Account Executive) functions including :
- Manage key account relationships
- Ensure timely participation in bids and Request for Proposals (RFPs)
- Working with Marketing to develop competitive responses
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience for key accounts and partners.
- Market Engagement & Insights
- Serve as the senior leader in Canada, representing the business at industry events, trade shows, and association meetings.
- Conduct regular market fieldwork, co-travels, and customer visits to gather in-market insights.
- Provide key intelligence on competitor activity, market trends, and regulatory challenges.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with :
- Customer Experience & Distribution Center (DC) teams to improve service and fulfillment in Canada.
- Finance, Marketing, Supply chain, Procurement and Quality on Canada-specific initiatives, including :
- Regulatory issues
- Inventory mix optimization
- Trade show strategy
- Bids and proposal support
- Ensure Canadian input is represented in broader North American strategies and marketing programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of education and experience
- 10-15 years of sales experience with 6-8 years of proven experience in sales leadership, preferably in healthcare, medical device, or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare system landscape.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing sales teams.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally as required
- Ability to travel 50-75% of the time, including overnight travel
