The Opportunity

The Safety & Training Coordinator works closely with the supervisors, Joint Health and Safety Committee and floor employees. This position works to continually improve our safety awareness and performance.

Responsibilities
  • Complete and track all monthly inspections
  • Complete monthly KPI’s and reporting
  • Organize all safety training
  • Coordinate emergency response drills
  • Make safety recommendations as situations arise
  • Chair health and safety meetings
  • Assist in aligning safety policies/practices
  • Update/create hazard assessments
  • Complete safety investigations including finding root causes
  • Follow up with safety action items
  • Complete safety orientations
  • Coordinate third party service (hygiene assessments, safety consultations)
  • Follow AGI’s Code of Business Ethics and related compliance policies
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Post-secondary education in Safety is an asset
  • Minimum 3 years health and safety experience
  • Thorough working knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and multitask
  • Ability to coordinate and liaise with other departments
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing situations and short deadlines
