The SSE Officer will be responsible for providing safety, security, and environmental oversight while ensuring excellence and consistency of safety, security, and environmental standards throughout the station's operations to support operational output. This role involves guiding on MA safety, security, and environmental policies, SOPs, and relevant legislation as set by local, State, and Federal regulations. The job is related to ground fueling operations within the relevant business unit.

Main accountabilities include:
  1. Lead by example and provide open, honest, and direct feedback to employees.
  2. Promote safety, security, and environmental awareness within the station, fostering a 'Safety and Security First' culture.
  3. Ensure implementation of safety, security, and environmental policies within the station.
  4. Ensure compliance with standards and policies outlined in Menzies Manuals and local legislation.
  5. Improve hazard identification, risk assessments, and risk mitigation measures.
  6. Collaborate with management to develop policies and procedures that establish safe work practices.
  7. Conduct monthly health and safety inspections and audits.
  8. Investigate incidents as necessary.
  9. Review injury and incident trends and implement corrective actions.
  10. Distribute safety, security, and environmental alerts.
  11. Support new safety, security, and environmental tools and processes, advising the Risk (HSSE) Manager.
  12. Implement and oversee the station's Emergency Response Plan (ERP).
  13. Lead and support the station Health and Safety Committee.
  14. Ensure safety and security meetings are held as required.
  15. Report statutory breaches or best practice violations.
  16. Participate in safety forums and represent Menzies at airport safety meetings.
  17. Attend mandatory training sessions.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent.
  3. Experience in environmental, safety, industrial hygiene, or related fields preferred.
  4. OSHA or similar safety certification desired.
  5. Valid G Driver's License and ability to obtain security clearances.
  6. Proficiency in PC use.
