Description

Responsibilities
  • Deliver instruction, interactive demonstration and e‑learning to staff at 22 CACCs, 9000+ Paramedics and other Ministry stakeholders, including ORNGE, province‑wide.
  • Provide application and product training to both technical and non‑technical users.
  • Document and deliver PSRN training documentation and overall training strategy, including training plans for each CACC and consideration of each centre’s unique needs.
  • Assist in the development, design and quality assurance of all training material related to the PSRN project.
  • Recommend training tools as required and provide hands‑on supervision and interactive demonstration.
  • Evaluate individual participant performance, provide feedback, recommend further training if needed, and administer and grade variable written and/or practical examinations and certifications.
  • Work alongside Ministry of Health representatives to incorporate EHPMDB processes in training materials and ensure quality of all project communication material.
  • Work closely with the Training Lead to meet project activities and timelines and effectively communicate to appropriate audiences.
  • Report progress against the training plan to the Training Lead.
  • Create final training materials by integrating EHPMDB future‑state processes with vendor training material.
  • Provide input, document requirements and support the design and delivery of training programs.
  • Provide progress reports to the PSRN Project Training Lead and management; identify and recommend additional or remedial training.
  • Lead the group, supervise and provide technical and non‑technical direction to students, CACC/ACS Paramedic Service and ORNG resource staff by scheduling work assignments, clarifying established practices and offering technical advice while meeting programming timelines.
  • Act as a province‑wide resource for the development and delivery of PSRN training programs.
  • Participate on committees and other task groups as part of the PSRN technology training.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a trainer, preferably in the public sector or land ambulance dispatch centers or paramedic services.
  • Experience delivering training material to both technical and non‑technical users.
  • Experience creating training material or user documentation, preferably in the public sector or healthcare sector.
  • Experience creating and managing training project plans/schedules and delivering training material in a province‑wide or nation‑wide schedule.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage a complex province‑wide schedule.
  • Experience working on the PSRN project.
  • Knowledge of emergency health services or the healthcare sector (asset).
  • Minimum valid driver’s licence class G or equivalent and ability to travel frequently within Ontario.
Technical Experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Public Safety equipment systems such as the Public Safety Radio Network.
  • Demonstrated experience with telecom and dispatch systems.
Analytic and Communications Skills
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences from entry‑level users to senior‑level executives.
  • A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a large project team.
Industry Experience
  • Experience delivering training related to 24x7 critical environments and operations.
  • Experience with the land ambulance sector and its stakeholders (asset).
  • Knowledge of public safety including police, ambulance and fire (asset).
  • Knowledge of emergency health services or the healthcare sector (asset).
Must Haves
  • 5+ years of experience as a trainer, preferably in the public sector or land ambulance dispatch centers or paramedic services.
  • Experience delivering training material to both technical and non‑technical users.
  • Experience creating training material or user documentation, preferably in the public sector or healthcare sector.
Travel Requirement

The resource will be required to travel to multiple training sites across the province to provide support and coordinate radio training for the implementation of the new PSRN solution.
