Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review nursing care plans that are individualized to each client.
  • Perform specialized nursing procedures for which recognized training and current competency have been completed.
  • Administer specialized IV and injection therapies with precision and care.
  • Monitor patients for any infusion-related reactions, providing timely interventions as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of all procedures and patient responses.
  • Provide direction, support and delegation to Licensed / Registered Practical Nurses and unlicensed Field employees as appropriate.
  • Educate patients on general health and medication management.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities as directed by the healthcare facility.
  • Uphold professional standards, appearance and demeanor at all times.

Education, Licensing And Certification
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • RN level registrant, in good standing with the applicable Provincial licensing body.
  • Current ACLS and CPR certificates.
  • Driver's license and auto insurance.
Experience
  • Proven IV skills that include PIVs, CVADs and PICC lines.
  • Experience with reading ECGs.
  • Experience administering chemotherapy or willingness to learn more about oncology.
  • Solid knowledge of the principles, practices and methods of community nursing.
Other Skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to handle difficult situations objectively and consistently.
  • Work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Able to perform and prioritize multiple functions and tasks; able to stand, bend, squat, kneel and reach; able to lift up to 23 kilograms.
  • Capable of assisting clients with standing, walking and sitting if needed.
  • Able to read and interpret technical instructions related to client care.
  • Willing to travel locally between assignments.
