In todays rapidly evolving financial services landscape operational resilience is paramount. It encompasses the ability of an organization to anticipate prepare for respond to and adapt to incremental change and sudden disruptions. As financial institutions face increasing threats from cyber incidents natural disasters and regulatory changes maintaining operational resilience is crucial to safeguarding critical operations and ensuring business continuity.

Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Business Resilience under Global Operations as the Reporting & Analytics Analyst Intern / Co-op you will play a key role in identifying and actioning our reporting & analytics opportunities. As part of this you will work with various stakeholders across all segments in Manulife including leadership business & technical SMEs and other risk functions. Your ultimate measure of success will be the timely and good quality of required outputs as well as possibly stakeholder adoption of the new or enhanced reporting & analytics solutions.

Key Accountabilities
  • Streamline data collection methods to create automated standardized and easy-to-use routines
  • Perform data cleansing processing and validation
  • Propose ways we can use data and analytics to improve reporting generate insights support business goals and solve problems
  • Leverage available technology (e.g. PowerBI PowerApps) to build or improve easy-to-use and sustainable dashboards that support data-driven decision making
  • Assist stakeholders with reporting & analytics tool adoption as needed
  • Other ad-hoc reporting & analytics work as required
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering Data Science Finance Statistics Mathematics or related field
  • Experience with data reporting and analysis modeling and statistical / quantitative approaches
  • Ability to gather analyze and synthesize information and make informed recommendations
  • Experience with common querying languages (e.g. SQL) and visualization tools (PowerBI PowerApps)
  • Experience with advanced Excel functions (macros and scripts)
  • Experience with dashboard design an asset
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders including written and verbal communication as well as visualizations / presentations
  • Strong planning and organization skills; can manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
