• Proven experience as a nurse in a long-term care setting, a nurse in a nursing home or a registered nurse/RN (1 year experience required).
• CPR Certification (preferred).

Overview

Credit Valley Family Practise is looking for a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to care for patients in a family medicine office setting, alongside 2-3 doctors. The ideal candidate will be able to undertake various duties with attention to detail and experience a fast-paced environment with lots of change. It is essential that the RPN have first-hand knowledge of nursing principles and practices. The goal is to promote patient well-being by providing excellent and reliable care. The candidate must be able to multitask, including administer vaccines, room, and patience, while making phone calls, relaying results,

Responsibilities

• Administer vaccine to ALL ages including newborns
• Draw and administer vaccines
• Comfortable with the vaccine dosing schedule
• Newborn visits
• Suture or staple removal
• Prenatal care
• Newborn weight checks
• B12 shots
• Assess and take vitals
• Strep swabs
• Ear syringing
• Clean and stock up rooms
• Maintain accurate records and observations
• Assist with other basic medical procedures
• Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
• Communicate with family members and friends regularly
• Be able to take calls regarding nursing needs
• Respond to patient concerns and educate patients as per physicians directives
• Communicate test results to patients as directed by physicians

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
• LPN/RPN
• Proven experience as a nurse in a long-term care setting, a nurse in a nursing home or a registered nurse/RN (1 year experience required)

• Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work
