Plans and provides direct nursing care to patients in accordance with the hospital policies and the BCCNM Standards for Nursing Practice in British Columbia. Reports to the Emergency/Intensive Care Unit Patient Care Coordinator.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work

07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 (rotating)

Prince Rupert Regional Hospital

is a 24-bed facility that sees an average of 22,000 ER visits per year. It is a fully equipped facility with Medical Imaging, Laboratory, ICU, ER and Maternity. Services include:

Qualifications

• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
• Post-graduate certification in Emergency Nursing or Critical Care Nursing or a minimum of one year’s recent related experience in an Emergency or ICU setting or an equivalent combination of training and experience acceptable to the hospital.
• Current certification in CPR - Basic Rescuer level required. Current ACLS certification preferred.
• All Specially Trained Nursing Skills (STN) related to the unit of employment must be completed within six (6) months of employment.
