Position Summary

Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at the Terrace Health Unit.

In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Clinical Resource Nurse practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as well as within a patient and family centered care model.

The Resource Nurse coordinates, screens and prioritizes patient/patient/client activities by assessing patients/clients, consulting with the interdisciplinary team and coordinating patient/client care across the continuum of care; acts as a clinical resource to other nurses and team members by providing consultation and clinical support based on specialized theory, knowledge, education and practice in the designated clinical area; intervenes in patient/client care provided by other nurses and/or healthcare providers, as required to ensure that patient/client outcomes are consistent with patient/client care plans and the delivery of quality patient/client care; implements, evaluates and recommends clinical education plans for nurses and other staff in the designated clinical area to ensure staff are up to date on current evidence-based practice, patient/client care issues and research; provides nursing and clinical education/training through individual and/or group assessment of clinical skills, including the training of nursing staff to provide educational sessions; reviews and evaluates care plans developed for patients/clients and takes corrective action.

Designated Clinical Area: Chronic Disease Management, clinical expertise in Diabetes required. Travel within Northwest required.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days, 08:30 to 17:00

Qualifications

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Three (3) years' recent related clinical nursing experience in the designated clinical area, including one (1) year experience in a supervisory/leadership role, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
