As a Registered Nurse in our Smith Creek Village Community, you will provide clinical leadership, support residents with complex and unstable health needs, and play a key role in fostering a safe, respectful, and person‑centred environment grounded in the Wellness Model of Care.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse you are a key leader in delivering compassionate, person‑centred care. You support residents with complex health needs while fostering strong relationships within the team and broader community. Rooted in our ministry values, your role combines clinical excellence with servant leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality nursing care in accordance with BCCNM Professional Standards and the CNA Code of Ethics
  • Conduct resident assessments, including management of unstable or acute conditions
  • Administer and review medications, treatments, and nursing interventions
  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of person‑centred care plans
  • Provide guidance and clinical support to Licensed Practical Nurses and care team members
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, pharmacists, community partners, and families
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation, including care plans, progress notes, and InterRAI–MDS entries
  • Promote a strong culture of health and safety, acting as First Aid attendant as required
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence‑based practice
  • Model Baptist Housing’s values through compassionate, respectful, and servant‑hearted leadership
  • Work in a vibrant and scenic community in Kelowna, located in the Okanagan Valley
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
  • A member in good standing or eligible for membership with British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Experience as a nurse in a long‑term care environment, preferably

Proficient in problem‑solving, time management, and meticulous organization of workloads, you ensure the highest quality of care for residents. With an in‑depth understanding of aging processes, cognitive function changes, and age‑related diseases, you provide empathetic care that transcends the clinical realm. Your expertise extends to medication administration, standard precautions, and adherence to healthcare protocols, prioritizing safety, and unwavering quality in every action. You possess a unique skill set that includes assessing functional and cognitive status, managing equipment, and adeptly utilizing office technology. You are also well‑versed in pharmacological therapies, the Wellness Model, legal documentation, and the complex intricacies of the healthcare system at various levels. You are competent, compassionate, and have an unwavering commitment to the well‑being of those you serve.

Compensation & Benefits

Level 3 RNs are compensated at an hourly rate ranging from $41.42 to $55.91 as outlined in the Provincial BC Nurses Collective Agreement.
