Come work as a Registered Nurse at Lady Minto Hospital on Salt Spring Island. Island Health is seeking registered nurses to join the Lady Minto Hospital team. Multiple openings are available, including full-time, part-time, casual and temporary positions.

Salt Spring Island, the largest of the southern Gulf Islands, is located off the east coast of Vancouver Island. Qualifications
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BC College of Nurses and Midwives).
  • Advanced preparation in emergency and/or obstetrics specialty training. Two (2) years' recent related experience in medical/surgical, obstetrics, emergency/urgent care, neonatal resuscitation, emergency pediatrics or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. CPR and ACLS are required.

  • Ability to apply the nursing process effectively in a well-organized manner to the care of assigned patients.
  • Ability to physically perform the duties of the position.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts, including co-workers, physicians, community, agencies, representatives, patients/clients/residents and families.
  • Ability to remain calm and to act appropriately in stressful and emergency situations.
