CGC Inc. is currently recruiting a Quarry Heavy Equipment Operator for our gypsum quarry in Little Narrows, NS! This is a permanent, full-time position currently operating on a day shift schedule. As this is a startup operation, the Quarry Heavy Equipment Operator will follow a full shift rotation of days / nights / weekends as operational needs evolve. We offer a comprehensive training program with a state-of-the-art heavy mobile equipment simulator to support operator skill development.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Safely and efficiently operate heavy mobile equipment such as haul trucks, bulldozers, loaders, and excavators to move, load and grade earth in a quarry setting.
  • Progress through the operator rate program, developing your skills on all pieces of heavy mobile equipment as you gain expertise in quarry operations.
  • Recognize hazards on site and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Work and operate outdoors in all weather conditions and seasons>
  • Participate in all safety, continuous improvement, and diversity, equity & inclusion activities as they arise.Other duties as assigned.
What you bring
  • A track record of positive safety behaviors, attendance, attitude and work performance with a passion for learning new skills.
  • High school diploma is required; post-secondary education is not necessary but nice to have.
  • Comfortability with basic computer applications is an asset.
  • Previous experience in a quarry environment including stripping overburden, stacking, stockpiling and reclamation is preferred.
