Overview

Quality Seibi Technician – Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

Contract Position • Full Time • Competitive Pay • PTO, Paid Holidays

Reliance One, Inc. is hiring for one of our clients in Cambridge, Ontario. We are seeking a Quality Seibi Technician to support quality confirmation and tooling activities for a new model launch. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to work in a fast-paced automotive environment, collaborating with global teams and ensuring equipment and parts meet strict quality standards.

What You’ll Do as a Quality Seibi Technician
  • Check / confirm body weld equipment, tools, pallets, parts, and assemblies to meet quality targets / KPIs for new model launch.
  • Prepare, troubleshoot, and confirm new tooling / equipment, parts, and sub-assemblies at various tool / equipment vendors. Support weld and tool quality confirmation activities at Toyota facilities from installation through handover.
  • Create detailed daily work plans, Project Task Reports & Problem Follow Sheets; track activity status; coordinate Safety communications (JSA, CMs / remedies to unsafe conditions, & safety audits); and support daily / weekly communication with the Project Leader and Seibi Management.
  • Provide effective written and verbal communication with Quality Seibi Team Members, Management, and outside groups regarding dimensional information and issues requiring resolution.
  • Gather / manage part information from Digital Engineering systems and drawings. Analyze part / sub-assembly dimensional data and report back to the Project Leader and Seibi Management.
  • Perform equipment / tool / part confirmation utilizing Portable CMM (FARO Arm, FARO Laser Tracker, Leica, etc.) as well as check fixture, weld tooling / equipment measurements, and part fitting activities.
  • Travel up to 50% to U.S., Canada, and / or Mexico NAMCs and machine suppliers, as well as international travel including Japan.
  • Work up to 50% overtime, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications for the Quality Seibi Technician
  • High school diploma or higher college degree.
  • Proficient with Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Mechanical proficiency in areas such as general automotive repair and tool maintenance.
Preferred Skills
  • Associate’s degree (or higher) in a technical field.
  • Automotive body quality experience.
  • Skilled in gathering and analyzing quality-related part / jig / CMM data.
  • Proficient with Digital Engineering tools related to design / engineering / certification including CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, PolyWorks, AutoCAD, CMM, and PCDMIS.
  • Manufacturing metrology experience.
