Job description

Our client isaglobal, integrated aerospace company that provides complex assemblies and systems solutions to aircraft and engine manufacturers, and defence and space agencies worldwide.

Currently, we have an exciting new opportunity for a QA Manager.

  • Reports to Director of Process Engineering and Quality
  • Working location:On-site at Mississauga, ON

The purpose of this position is to ensure compliance with the company's Quality Management System. The successful incumbent will be responsible for promoting quality throughout the organization and the supply base and addressing any quality-related issues.

  • Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Management System, Customers, regulatory requirements and Corporate policies and procedures.
  • Ensure internal and external quality metrics are in place and reviewed to monitor and measure the facility’s operational performance. Identify and implement corrective actions required to overcome potential deficiencies.
  • Lead root cause investigation and resolution of quality deficiencies with industry best practice methodologies.
  • Organize and facilitate internal and external quality audits.
  • Provide quality training, guidance and mentoring to employees and suppliers.
  • Manage supplier quality, approvals and auditing of the company’s suppliers.
  • Manages and participates in customer interface required to address quality scorecards and any other related quality issues.
  • Organize management review meetings and support process owners to ensure QMS risks are identified, regularly assessed, and appropriately mitigated.

Position Requirements:

  • Technologist or Engineering degree. Formal training in management courses is an asset.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant Manufacturing, Quality, or Engineering experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in quality administration / quality engineering. Aerospace quality training or gas turbine engine training/experience will be considered an asset.
  • Solid technical background. Can interpret drawings and customer specifications.
  • Knowledgeable in inspection techniques.
  • Good understanding of quality requirements in an ISO/AS environment.
  • Working knowledge of aerospace industry standards and OEM requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management System and Auditing.
  • Strong understanding of Root Cause Analysis and development of Corrective Action Plans.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, process capability and problem resolution tools and techniques such as 5 Whys, 6 Sigma, FPY, etc.
  • Basic or advanced knowledge of gas turbine engines.
  • Excellent prioritization, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Strong mentoring and training skills.
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong statistical, mathematical and critical thinking skills.
  • Preventative, proactive and forward thinking.
  • Ability to evaluate and implement advanced software and quality improvement tools.
  • Understanding Flight Safety, H&S and Environmental principles.
  • Understanding NADCAP and OEM Special Process requirements.
