Key Responsibilitiesb>

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to optimize cost, quality, and delivery for manufacturing materials and services.
  • Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Manage supplier relationships, conduct performance reviews, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality departments to ensure timely availability of materials and adherence to specifications.
  • Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and supply chain risks to inform purchasing strategies and minimize disruption.
  • Optimize inventory levels of raw materials and components to support production schedules while minimizing holding costs.
  • Implement and maintain purchasing policies and procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in purchasing or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost savings.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for purchasing and inventory management.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and inventory control.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing and developing a purchasing team.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Lean/Six Sigma Certification or demonstrated experience in process improvement methodologies
  • Experience with ERP system implementation, optimization, or advanced module configuration (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle SCM)
  • International sourcing and logistics experience, particularly in low-cost country sourcing
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
