About the Role:

Reporting to the Director of Purchasing, the Purchasing and Sourcing Category Manager will lead our packaging component sourcing initiatives. This role requires deep expertise in glass containers, plastic containers, metal closures, and plastic closures, and offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on cost efficiencies, vendor relationships, and global supply strategies.

The successful applicant will:
  • Manage $60M USD annual category spend.
  • Develop cost-saving strategies and improve profit margins.
  • Introduce new vendors using qualification protocols and optimize packaging distribution models.
  • Conduct portfolio analysis and market research.
  • Introduce secondary sourcing strategies and mitigate tariff impact for U.S. market sourcing
  • Distribute vendor scorecards and evaluate supplier agreements.
  • Build category strategies through spend analysis, market modeling, and risk assessment.
  • Train regional purchasing teams.
  • Recommend and implement sourcing efficiency improvements.
We are seeking a candidate with the following experience and attributes:
  • College or university diploma required; a specialization in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in global sourcing, category management, and vendor negotiation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-million-dollar spend portfolios and achieve measurable cost reductions.
  • Skilled in stakeholder collaboration, training initiatives, and driving cross-functional process improvements.
  • Proven ability to assess supplier risk, model market trends, and align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills.
