A health services organization in Newfoundland and Labrador seeks a Provincial Professional Practice Consultant for Psychology. Salary: HL-25 ($88,197 - $114,655 per annum). Sign‑on incentive: Psychology Recruitment Incentive up to $50,000 with a 3‑year return in service (subject to Government of Newfoundland and Labrador approval annually). This position reports to the Provincial Director of Professional Practice – Allied Health. The Provincial Professional Practice Consultant for psychology supports practice integrity of Clinical Psychologists, Coordinator of Clinical Training for Psychology, Psychometrists, Clinical Sexologist, Music Therapists and Art Therapists in NLHS. The consultant supports NLHS managers with Psychology, Sexology, and Creative Arts Therapy staff across the province. Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and evaluating structures that support professional practice through a Professional Practice Model and aligning psychology operational plans with NLHS strategic directions. The incumbent fosters collaborative relationships with programs/departments to ensure client‑centered care and best practices, working closely with psychologists and managers in workforce planning, orientation, accountability, workload, clinical documentation, research, resource allocation, outcome measures, advanced practice, and scopes of practice. The consultant also identifies policy and professional development opportunities and serves in various committees, projects, and interprofessional working groups. Outside liaises include educational institutions, professional colleges/associations, unions, and the Department of Health and Community Services.
Education: Registered Psychologist with the NL Psychology Board. Doctoral degree in Psychology required.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of progressive clinical and professional leadership experience in psychology; previous management experience is an asset.
Registration with the NL Psychology Board required. A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance required. Travel across NL Health Services required.
