The candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly reports, developing tenant relationships, and liaising with various departments for tenant issues. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of property management experience. This role requires strong communication, analytical skills, and a proactive approach to managing tenant needs.

Position Summary

Our client is a rapidly growing Property Manager in the Vaughan area. We are conducting a search for a Property Manager with experience managing a mixed portfolio of Retail Office and Industrial properties in the Mississauga area. You will be accountable for the daily operations including managing site conditions, contractors and reporting status on regular basis to the Executive Team

Responsibilities:

The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepare comprehensive monthly reporting for owners and executive team on all project and tenant matters
  • Developing Tenant Relationships / Customer Satisfaction
  • Assisting with responding to tenant queries to ensure a full resolution
  • Awareness & tracking of lease maturities and changes to site or existing tenants leases which would create value
  • Assisting with collections
  • Liaise with other departments in resolving tenant issues and addressing their needs (eg. Lease renewals, assignments, exclusives, billings etc.)
  • Process improvements - participate in / lead the process change with respect to tenant turnover; Percentage Rent billings, and tenant set-ups
  • Create value (reducing costs or increasing revenues) through the use of:
    • Environmentally friendly initiatives
    • Utilization of volume discounts or leveraging the size of the portfolio
    • Use of technology
    • Process improvements/efficiencies
    • Customer service/tenant relations
    • Operating excellence
    • Establishing and taking advantage of contractor discounts
    • Manage the physical aspects of the properties within your portfolio
    • Co-ordinate all tenders for property operations
    • Set and maintain all property annual budgets and any adjustments as required
    • Review and approve all invoices
    • Discuss with all supervisors variance reports to work towards maintaining budgets
    • Co-ordinate with Insurance Brokers/Agents and Legal Entities regarding all accident claims
    • Co-ordinate with Promotions Company and participating tenant promotions budgets and events
    • Liaise with Accounting in CAM reconciliation and other property related items
    • Continue to achieve relationships with new and existing tenants;
    • Insuring contractors obligations outlined within contracts are maintained.

Qualifications

Academic/Education Requirements:

  • Four-year Bachelor’s Degree and or Professional Designation;

Required skills/Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years experience in Property Management overseeing a mixed portfolio of Office, Retail and Industrial assets
  • Effective planner for not only prioritizing work activities but also anticipating shifts in priorities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels within, as well as outside the organization
  • Effective skills in analyzing and interpreting needs of the tenants, leases and financial information
  • Ability to read and interpret leases
