Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Property Field Adjuster to join our team in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. This field position requires the candidate to be located in Nanaimo. The successful applicant will be actively involved in evaluating loss claims, with a focus on property and casualty claims through comprehensive loss investigations. Additionally, they will be responsible for negotiating settlements following provincial licensing requirements, while maintaining adequate production levels and strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and analyzes experts’ reports
  • Selects and directs independent experts
  • Identifies and pursues subrogation opportunities
  • Secures and manages litigation disposition plans and budgets
  • Detailed recording of file activities and transactions in both Crawford and Company and client-based systems
  • Maintains accurate expense accounts
  • Work with manager to maintain client relation
  • Ability to liaise and work with all facets of the insurance community including brokers, risk managers, legal counsel and regulators

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years functional/technical experience in an insurance environment, knowledge of property and casualty claims.
  • Ideal candidate will have a construction and property background, specializing in project management, quantification, and appraisal
  • Commercial policy interpretation and experience, making recommendations to the market
  • Has an active adjuster license or is working towards a CIP and/or FCIP designation
  • Knowledge in using Xactimate and experience in Xactanalysis
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Must be a team player with outstanding customer service skills
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with opportunity for career growth
