Project Manager – Volt-Age IMPACT Projects (Research Associate)

Planned start and end date of appointment: September 22 to September 21. Salary: $30.79 - $53.28 per hour. Hours per week: 21. Position title: Project Manager (Research Associate). Principal Investigator or Immediate supervisor: Drs. Liangzhu Wang and Andreas Athienitis.

Job description

As Project Manager, you will support two IMPACT projects: Transforming Built and Urban Microclimates: Advancing Resilience Science for Vulnerable Populations in a Decarbonized and Electrified Canada; and Design and Operation of Net-Zero Smart Resilient Buildings and Infrastructure. The role requires 14 hours per week in collaboration with Dr. Liangzhu Wang and 7 hours per week in collaboration with Dr. Andreas Athienitis.

Responsibilities
  • Creation and facilitation of partnerships with industrial, municipal, and government partners, contributing to national and international building codes, standards, and guidelines.
  • Organize partnerships and research events, such as workshops and conferences, nationally and internationally.
  • Help drafting research proposals, reports, and communications with partners.
  • Promotion of research and building engineering programs, and knowledge dissemination.
  • Assisting research of graduate student projects.
  • Other research tasks as outlined by the respective Principal Investigator.
Qualifications / skills
  • PhD in Building Engineering, or equivalent terminal degree with a minimum of 15 years of experience in building science, building physics, building envelopes, climate change, renewable energy research, and the construction industry.
  • Accreditation in Project Management considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism in English and French.
