Footprint is currently seeking a Project Manager - Commissioning. You understand how to focus on the overall project objectives guiding the individual tasks through to completion along the way. What You'll Do:
  • Oversee the commissioning process on new and existing building projects.
  • Collaborate with the principal to help define project scopes and budgets.
  • Assist the owner with the effective development of their project requirements in a manner to facilitate an effective Basis of Design response from the design consultants.
  • Develop project-specific commissioning plans and project specific specifications, checklists and test procedures.
  • Participate in building system testing and verification activities.
  • Create performance-testing reports and keep records of commissioning activities. Perform technical analysis necessary to interpret building operation.
  • Provide technical reviews of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Establish the technical integrity of deliverables, scheduling, progress reporting, risk management, and client-relation management.
  • Plan, schedule and track project timelines and milestones. Provide this information to the Project Manager or client as required.
  • Attend and run meetings with project stakeholders. Liaise with all project stakeholders on an ongoing basis, ensuring a coordinated approach to commissioning-related work.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients. Explore opportunities for new markets.
  • Coordinate with other Footprint services including energy audits, energy modelling, LEED certification, and other sustainability certifications/measures related to new construction and existing building projects.

Who You Are:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in engineering, architecture, building science or a related field.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in building commissioning.
  • Must have a commissioning designation from a recognized industry association or obtain a designation within 12 months of the start of employment with Footprint.
  • Must have LEED AP designation or specialty designation or obtain their LEED AP designation within 6 months of the start of employment with Footprint.
  • Thorough knowledge of commissioning standards, processes and procedures.
  • Understanding of HVAC and electrical system design and operation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Consistently meeting budgets and deadlines, and are eager to work collaboratively with internal and external clients to exceed project expectations.
  • Demonstrated successful client-relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in energy conservation and sustainable design.
