Description

Actalent’s client is seeking a skilled and proactive Project Manager to lead the execution of a portfolio of Transmission Decommissioning of Plant Projects. This multi-year initiative focuses on the safe and efficient removal of decommissioned transmission assets to mitigate safety risks and reduce maintenance costs of unproductive assets.

Responsibilities
  • Lead medium to high-risk, highly complex infrastructure or construction projects through all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and manage project plans, risk management strategies, and budgets (up to $50 million).
  • Oversee cross-functional teams and activities including engineering, quality assurance, stakeholder engagement, regulatory approvals, procurement, and construction management.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation such as project plans, action logs, communication plans, status reports, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Monitor project benefits, resources, and progress using project management principles and tools.
Essential Skills
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience in project management, field work, program development, and contracting.
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years managing infrastructure or utility projects.
  • Minimum 9 years of overall project management experience or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of transmission systems, asset lifecycle, and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and financial tracking systems.
  • Familiarity with BC Hydro systems, processes, culture, values, and terminology.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Advanced Microsoft Office and project management software skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities effectively across diverse disciplines.
  • Knowledge of First Nations engagement, regulatory compliance, and safety standards.
