The Opportunity

As a Project Engineer you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and directing the City of Thunder Bay’s Infrastructure Asset Management portfolio and infrastructure improvements, while also supporting ongoing growth and development projects.

Ideal Candidate
  • Degree in civil engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
  • Three to five years of civil engineering experience, including project planning, design, and construction of municipal infrastructure.
  • Supervisory experience with technical staff.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, guidelines, and environmental assessments.
  • Ability to deliver presentations to a variety of audiences and handle on‑the‑spot questions from senior officials, City Council members, special interest groups, and the media.
  • Proficient in computers and current related software, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, AutoCAD, Softdesk, and ESRI GIS.
  • Excellent project and time management, analytical and critical thinking, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
