Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Southwestern Ontario seeks a Project Manager to coordinate mining engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Key responsibilities include ensuring projects meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards while adhering to environmental regulations. Strong communication and management skills are essential. Qualifications

  • At least 5 years relevant experience in mining projects including design and construction experience.
  • Familiarity with Mines Safety and Inspections Regulations and associated Acts.
  • Current WA Driver License.
  • Able to provide evidence of Permanent Residency or Australian Citizen status.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate engineering projects to ensure successful completion.
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and community requirements.
  • Coordinate day-to-day construction management activities.
  • Review and approve key documentation for project objectives.

Job description
Job Location :

Manage and coordinate engineering projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring, to ensure successful completion while meeting project requirements, timelines, and quality standards.

Core Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Delivering the project area with zero harm to personnel and the environment
  • Delivery of the project area to meet or exceed the goals developed during the definition phase
  • Delivery of the project area to, or below, the approved project budget
  • Delivery of the project area to the agreed schedule
  • Compliance with environmental, community and heritage requirements and conditions
  • Overall performance of the project area with the Project Manager
  • Promotion of HSEC as a priority in all areas of the project
  • Day-to-day management and coordination of the construction management for the project area
  • Management of interfaces with all appropriate stakeholders
  • Review and approval of key documentation to ensure it meets the objectives and design concepts
  • Reviewing schedule and progress reporting to ensure timely and relevant data is provided so that effective and pro-active action can be taken
  • Approval of all cost commitments for the project area
  • Overseeing all commercial and contractual matters that arise for the project area
  • Responding to any issues, delays or technical difficulties that have the potential to impact on the costs and / or the project schedule and ensure the project has the resources to develop contingencies in a timely manner
  • Compile area monthly report for Project Managers approval
  • Adhere to all CPC Engineering and CPC Project Design policies, systems, procedures and quality management requirements
Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor of Engineering, or Science in Engineering or similar technical qualifications with at least 5 years relevant experience in mining projects including design and construction experience
  • Familiarity with Mines Safety and Inspections Regulations and associated Acts
