POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Business Development, Tourism team, the Project Coordinator is responsible for leading projects supporting the Tourism business events, travel trade, and sports & special events sales activities that contribute to increasing the visitor economy.
RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the completion of specific projects while ensuring these projects are on time, on budget, and within scope;
- Support the Director of Business Development in strategic planning and priority projects;
- Organize and execute the national and international sales initiatives as it relates to sponsorship deliverables;
- Be the primary liaison with marketing leads to support the management of projects that deliver on Tourism goals;
- Manage and track projects within the project management software, Monday.com;
- Create project timelines and budgets;
- Manage and reconcile the Tourism budget;
- Manage project debriefs and analysis;
- Undertake special projects and tasks as required by the Director of Business Development;
- Work responsibly in accordance with the Winnipeg Economic Development & Tourism’s Policy Playbook.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Experience in event planning or event coordination in a corporate environment;
- Project Management certification an asset;
- Post-secondary education from an accredited college or university is an asset;
- Understanding of the fundamentals of marketing is an asset;
- Strong proficiency working with specialized software programs including Microsoft Suite and Adobe Acrobat;
- Experience working in project management software is an asset;
- Knowledge of CRMs is an asset;
- Budget management training is preferred;
- An acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality;
- Must be available to work extended hours as required;
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.
