BWXT's Technical Services Group

BWXT’s Technical Services Group (TSG) is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support project planning, scheduling, cost control, and reporting for complex projects within the nuclear sector. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers and stakeholders to ensure projects are executed efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.

Responsibilities / Duties
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using industry-standard tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and expenditures to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Track progress, performance metrics, and key deliverables for ongoing projects.
  • Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to support project success.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on project status, cost analysis, and resource planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Support contract management, procurement processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions to maintain project efficiency.
  • Assist in developing best practices for project controls across our portfolio.
  • Conduct research to determine efficiency and effectiveness of managerial policies and programs for the Projects Organization.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in project controls, cost management, scheduling or similar is required.
  • Preference is given to those who have experience with Primavera P6, MS Project, or other scheduling tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles is an asset.
  • Familiarity with nuclear industry regulations and safety standards is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability as a self-starter.
  • Experience working with Canadian regulatory bodies is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian contracting standards is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian Security Clearance is required.

Compensation

This position is open to candidates of all experience levels. The compensation listed below reflects the starting range and may vary based on experience and qualifications.

Pay: 85,000 USD - 134,000 USD

The base salary range for this position in Ontario, Canada, at the start of employment is expected to be between 85,000 USD and 134,000 USD per year. The total compensation package may include an annual cash incentive and a full range of medical, retirement, and other benefits. Details will be provided at the offer stage. The selected candidate will be employed at-will unless governed by a collective bargaining agreement. The company reserves the right to modify base salary and other compensation or benefits at any time for performance or market factors.
