Project Controller (Permanent)

(Saskatoon)

We are seeking qualified candidates for a Project Controller role with primary responsibility for developing, maintaining, and monitoring integrated project schedules. The successful candidate will update progress, examine critical path impacts, identify schedule risks, and provide accurate forecasting and performance reporting to support effective project execution. Working closely with project managers and cross‑functional teams, you will ensure schedule integrity and proactively address variances, while also supporting cost control activities including expenditure tracking, forecasting, and budget performance reporting to maintain alignment with approved project objectives.

What you’ll accomplish:
  • Schedule Control (Primary Duties):
  • Develop, maintain, and update integrated baseline schedules in coordination with the Project Manager and discipline leads
  • Identify critical and near‑critical paths and manage task interdependencies across engineering, procurement, and construction
  • Monitor progress, investigate schedule variances, and communicate risks, impacts, and recovery plans
  • Revise schedules to reflect scope changes, field conditions, and change orders
  • Validate contractor schedules and ensure alignment with project controls standards and reporting requirements
  • Calculate earned value (SPI) and monitor project performance
  • Cost Control (Secondary Duties):
  • Examine and report cost variances between budget, AFE, and actuals
  • Prepare monthly cost reports, reconciliations, forecasts and month‑end accruals
  • Track and report KPIs and support OCI dashboard reporting
  • Monitor alignment between schedule progress and budget performance
  • Support Project Managers with AFE estimates budgets, forecasts, and ad hoc financial analysis.
  • Perform other related tasks as required
  • Comply with all Orano health, safety and environmental policies, practices, and procedures
Skills and qualifications we’re seeking:
  • 5-10 years’ experience in cost control or project controls, preferably in mining
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel
  • Certification in Project Planning or Scheduling (preferred)
  • SAP experience is an asset
  • Experience with Power BI is an asset
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Accounting is an asset

Work location & Travel:
  • Saskatoon Corporate Office, flexible working 2 days per week from home
  • Occasional travel to northern site as required
