Job summary

A community-based health agency in Timmins is seeking compassionate Program Workers to support individuals with addiction and mental health disorders. You will work in a therapeutic environment as part of a multidisciplinary team, assisting with crisis intervention and providing care. Ideal candidates possess a relevant diploma and experience, and should be willing to work flexible shifts. Competitive wages and a possibility of bonuses are offered.

Job description

Locatedin Timmins, Ontario Jubilee Centre is a community-based agency offeringspecialized live-in addiction & mental health services (concurrentdisorders) in a safe home-like, therapeutic community environment. We arecurrently seeking Program Workers to complement our multidisciplinary clientcare team on the Intensive Treatment & Rehabilitation Unit and on the MHCrisis & WMS Unit.

Summary of Qualifications:

Current College Diploma in Human Services preferred or (in progress/willing to pursue);

Able and willing to work rotating shifts (D,E,N), every other weekend and perform

some domestic duties;

Demonstrated passion for helping individuals with addiction and mental health disorders;

Relevant work experience, in live-in mental health and substance use agency preferred, flexible & ability to work under minimal supervision;

Working knowledge of crisis intervention, problem solving skills and stress management ability;

Understanding of equity, diversity, cultural safety and trauma informed care;

Sound intra/interpersonal skills, communication and teamwork abilities;

Current certification in First Aid, CPR preferred, or (in progress/willing to pursue).

Skills/Attributes:

Individuals who identify as Indigenous, First Nation or Métis who have a solid working knowledge of traditional healing practices, and have a working knowledge of Cree, Ojibway, or Oji-Cree;

Individuals who are fluently bilingual (French and English);

Individuals who have lived experience in Mental Health and/or Addictions and is enjoying life in the interrupted maintenance stage of recovery for 2 years or more ;

CPI or equivalent Certificate of Completion: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention;

Able and willing to register with a recognized Ontario regulatory body;

Current relevant experience in a Mental Health and/or Addictions setting;

Wages and Benefits: In accordance with the Collective Agreement.
