Professor - Veterinary Technician Program

A full-time Professor at Fanshawe College is responsible for providing academic leadership and developing an effective learning environment for students. The successful candidate will teach courses in the School of Health Sciences, focusing on the Animal Health programs : Veterinary Assistant and Veterinary Technician.

Qualifications

General Qualifications

  • Leadership and teaching skills with a commitment to academic excellence and student success
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse learners
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with technologies
  • Related industry work experience
  • Post-secondary teaching experience, especially in hybrid or online formats, and knowledge of curriculum design and student evaluation (assets)

Specific Qualifications

  • Post-secondary 4-year degree in Sciences, Health Sciences, Sociology, Psychology, or Education
  • Must be a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians (OAVT) or a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) with the College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO)
  • Minimum five years recent work experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician
  • Familiarity with OAVT Accreditation process (asset)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team

Start Date : January 2026

Salary : Based on relevant experience and qualifications, with original transcripts required for employment.

Educational Credentials : Transcripts are mandatory for employment, not required for interview.
