What You’ll Do

General Helper is a production worker within our steel manufacturing facility who supports the wider site operations and senior Machine Operators producing high quality wire and wire products. The role reports to the Production Managers or designate and requires membership in the Teamsters Union, Local 213.

Examples of Duties
  • Operation of production machinery
  • Operation of an overhead crane and forklift
  • Assisting senior Machine Operators at assigned workstations (i.e. lifting/moving product up to 50 lbs.)
  • Warehouse/manufacturing work (i.e. moving up and down stairs, bending, lifting, and carrying items)
  • Participate in all site specific training as required
  • Perform other related duties to support the overall success of the operation

Compensation & Shift Rotation

The position rate of pay is up to $24.03/hr including base pay ($23.33/hr), afternoon shift premium ($0.65/hr), night shift premium ($0.70/hr) where applicable. This role is a stepping stone to a Machine Operator with a base pay of $31.34/hr.

Hours of Work

Week 1 & 2: Day Shift – Monday to Friday, 6:00AM -2:30PM

Week 3 & 4: Night Shift – Monday to Friday, 2:30PM-10:30PM

Week 5 & 6: Afternoon Shift – Monday to Friday, 10:30pm – 6:00AM
