Your Role
The Production Technologist role is a member of the operations team and will perform a variety of mechanical and administrative duties. The role will primarily perform electrical and mechanical assembly of company\'s products.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and wire sub-assemblies.
- Submit engineering change requests as required.
- Assemble products, including light mechanical work and soldering.
- Complete required administrative duties.
- Label and properly handle nonconforming products.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Assist in material kitting and inventory control.
- Work with Site Leader and Supervisor to document and maintain Standardized Work.
- Work closely with the Supervisor to implement solutions to operational issues such as health and safety, quality, and productivity.
Additional Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures and organize work areas for efficiency and safety.
- Provide status reports to management as required.
- Respond to change productively and handle other duties as required.
Education & Experience
- Two-year technical degree (preferred).
- 3+ years of electro-mechanical assembly-related experience.
- Lean or Lean Six Sigma training and experience with deployment of projects would be considered an asset.
Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to read and understand mechanical, flow, and electrical wiring diagrams.
- Ability to operate electric and mechanical hand tools.
- Computer literacy and good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficiency with soldering and de-soldering.
- Experience with tube bending from 1/8 to 1/2 inch tubing.
General Knowledge & Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
