POSITION PURPOSE

The Food Production Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the food production line in a manufacturing facility. This role ensures that production processes meet quality, safety, and efficiency standards while complying with regulatory requirements. The supervisor manages production staff, monitors workflow, and ensures that products are manufactured to meet customer and company specifications.

Operations
  • Train, mentor, and supervise production staff, including assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
  • Schedule shifts and manage staffing levels to meet production demands.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of production staff to ensure efficient and timely production of food products.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards, recipes, and specifications.
  • Ensure production targets are met while maintaining high-quality output.
  • Performs Pre-Operational, Operational and Post-Operational Inspection throughout production areas.
  • Address employee concerns, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive work environment.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed.
  • Ensure proper use of machinery and tools to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor raw material and packaging inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including output, downtime, and quality metrics.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to management on production performance, issues, and improvements.
  • Ensures General Organization and Cleanliness in Production Floor.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Quality and Food Safety
  • Ensures HACCP and SQF compliance.
  • Maintains any required food handlers’ certification/license as required and ensures staff is certified.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory and company standards.
  • Assisting Food Center Manager in internal audit as and when required.
Human Resources & Safety
  • Follows HR practices and procedures for positive discipline. Provides regular motivational and corrective feedback to employees as required.
  • Attending the Health and Safety Meetings Monthly ensuring all Health and Safety Regulations and Requirements are being followed and met daily. Reporting any hazards to the team.
  • Promotes and displays proactive, positive leadership qualities to the team.
  • Gives direction-guidance to sandwich makers, machine operator's, lead hands on performance, training and positive discipline.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum grade 12
  • Relative experience

  • Basic Computer Skills
