Job summary

A leading recruitment firm in Canada is seeking a Procurement Specialist for a 2-year contract. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of procurement and sourcing experience along with an undergraduate degree in engineering or business. Responsibilities include supporting sourcing activities, preparing procurement documents, and coordinating with stakeholders. This position is suitable for individuals legally authorized to work in Canada. A robust knowledge of MS Office is preferred.

Job description

MatchBox Consulting is on the hunt for a Procurement Specialist. This role supports sourcing and procurement activities for medium-complexity initiatives, contributing to the development and execution of sourcing strategies while working closely with internal teams and suppliers.

Contract: 2 years

Responsibilities
  • Support sourcing and procurement activities from strategy through to award.
  • Assist with the development and execution of sourcing and category strategies.
  • Prepare and support procurement documents (e.g., RFPs, RFQs, RFTs) and evaluations.
  • Identify and assess sourcing and supply risks and support mitigation actions.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support procurement outcomes.
  • Track progress of sourcing initiatives and report status to project or department leads.
Must Haves
  • 5 years of procurement and sourcing experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in an engineering or business-related subject (or equivalent experience).
  • SCMP or equivalent designation (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Experience preparing procurement documents and supporting supplier negotiations.Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Nice to Haves
  • Experience in public sector or regulated procurement environments.
  • Experience with full-cycle sourcing from strategy to award.
  • Additional education or certification in Supply Chain or Project Management.
