JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in one of Canada's most advanced naval programs? We're seeking an Intermediate Procurement Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of procurement activities for medium-to-high complexity packages, including systems, equipment, and materials. This is an opportunity to work on a program that shapes the future of maritime defense while advancing your career in a dynamic, high-impact environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Strategic Sourcing: Conduct research and analysis to develop optimal sourcing strategies for your assigned portfolio.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Provide accurate, timely advice to internal teams to ensure progress and schedule adherence.
  • Supplier Management: Oversee pre-qualification, engagement, negotiations, and performance management to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
  • Procurement Events: Develop and execute RFIs and RFPs, managing sourcing events to meet cost and schedule objectives.
  • Contract Management: Prepare contracts, lead or support negotiations, draft executive briefings, and manage post-award administration.
  • Commercial Administration: Manage purchase orders and invoice reviews to ensure accuracy and first-time match compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in end-to-end supply chain and procurement activities.
  • Preferred experience in Shipbuilding, Aerospace/Defense, Heavy Manufacturing, or Construction industries.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage complex procurement processes.

Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
