- Procurement 17: Salaries typically range from $83,037 to $110,717 annually, based on qualifications and experiences.
Location
- Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week (subject to change).
- This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa.

Team Overview
Corporate Functions Transformation – ERP Program
The Corporate Functions Transformation (CFT) program is a multi-year strategic initiative designed to modernize and unify core business processes across HR, Finance, Procurement, and IT. At its heart is the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform, replacing legacy systems and siloed processes with an integrated, efficient, and future-ready solution.
EDC’s Procurement Team enables our client’s decision-making by providing expertise and advisory services in contracting, sourcing and procurement processes. The team is responsible for safeguarding the reputation of EDC’s procurement practices while maintaining the highest ethical standards.
What you will be doing
- Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and prepares and processes requisitions for the procurement of goods and services, administers contract terms and conditions, processes amendments to contract terms and conditions.
- Evaluates contract compliance and advises others on contractual rights and obligations.
- Facilitates the identification, definition, and modification of RFP’s/RFI’s/RFQ’s/RFT’s (formal Competitive Procurement Processes) participates in the determination of acceptable bids, while considering all facets of risk mitigation standards, controls and processes while safeguarding EDC’s reputation.
- Advises and proactively influences internal clients throughout the entire acquisition process; advises on procedural issues, legislative regulations and industry guidelines and best practices, assuring that the needs are met with the appropriate balance of opportunity, accountability and best value.
- Works closely with internal clients to aid in the development of requirements, statements of work, deliverables, or other industry norms; identifies the appropriate means to either facilitate acquisition or proposal solicitation in accordance with relevant Policy and Trade Agreement obligations.
- Maintains efficient records of all procurement documents including purchase orders, commercial contracts and formal proposal processes. Documents all facets of the undertaking and the entire procurement process for audit purposes.
- Undertakes research or new services and product opportunities along with new potential sources of supply and make recommendations on an ongoing basis.
- Participates in Corporate initiatives and projects.
- Maintains up to date files in accordance with the Procurement team's information management standards.
What we are looking for
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration or another related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in a Procurement environment with 3 years’ experience guiding formal competitive procurement processes.
- Knowledge and understanding of complex contracts, commercial contracts, and competitive procurement processes.
- Knowledge of Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA) and the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and the ability to apply the elements of this agreement to all parts of the procurement process.
- Knowledge of the procurement industry and best practices.
What will make you stand out
- Significant progression towards professional certification (Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA)).
- Knowledge of the Government of Canada methods of supply for procurement and familiarity with PSPC (Public Services and Procurement Canada) and SSC (Shared Services Canada) procurement tools and platforms.
- Bilingual in both official languages (English and French).
