Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field.

  • Experience in paper manufacturing is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

The Paper Mill Process Engineer provides technical and process support to operations and leads process improvement activities for a designated tissue machine. This role focuses on safety, quality, productivity, cost efficiency, waste reduction, and process reliability.

  • Deliver technical support in process control, system analysis, centerlining, and operational leadership while promoting a safety-first culture.
  • Collaborate across departments (Converting, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics) and maintain strong relationships with OEM technicians for technical support.
  • Identify and resolve complex technical, quality, or safety issues; troubleshoot equipment and implement operational standards to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead process optimization and improvement projects, including small to medium capital projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Monitor and analyze paper mill processes, equipment capabilities, and key predictive indicators; use data insights to inform decisions and improvements.
  • Support product development initiatives to enhance quality and performance; assist with planning, installation, and start-up of new equipment.
  • Actively contribute to innovation and site improvement initiatives “Find a better way every day” while upholding professional and ethical conduct.
