Location & Onsite Flexibility: Toronto, ON – Hybrid
Position Type: Contract – 6 Month Duration
Start: As Soon As Possible
Pay Rate: $70.00–$75.00 per hour

Job Overview

The Power BI & Data Analytics Developer will design, build, and optimize enterprise‑grade business intelligence and analytics solutions. This role focuses on transforming complex datasets into actionable insights through advanced reporting, data modeling, and statistical analysis, while partnering closely with business stakeholders to support data‑driven decision‑making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver advanced Power BI dashboards, KPI scorecards, and interactive reports using Power BI and Jet Reports
  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies beyond standard reporting
  • Develop and maintain complex data models consolidating multiple data sources into a single source of truth
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications and analytical frameworks
  • Integrate environmental, social, sustainability, and DE&I metrics into enterprise reporting
  • Support predictive and forward‑looking analytics, including forecasting and trend analysis
Required Skills & Qualifications
Business Intelligence & Analytics
  • 5+ years of experience developing BI and operational reports using Power BI
  • Advanced DAX skills, including complex calculations and time‑intelligence functions
  • Strong expertise in data modeling (star/snowflake schemas, cross‑filtering, cardinality, active/inactive relationships)
Data Engineering & SQL
  • Expert‑level T‑SQL, including debugging and performance tuning
  • Experience with data migration, integration, and data warehousing initiatives
  • Proven ability to handle large‑scale datasets (100M+ rows) and optimize refresh cycles
Advanced Analytics & Cloud
  • Experience using Python or R for statistical analysis and data manipulation
  • Ability to apply statistical techniques (regression, correlation, distribution analysis)
  • Experience implementing Row‑Level Security (RLS) in Power BI Service
  • Extensive experience with Azure technologies including ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, and Synapse Analytics
  • Solid understanding of modern ETL/ELT frameworks and data pipelines
Preferred / Additional Skills
  • Experience with D365 Dataverse and the Power Platform ecosystem
  • Background in e‑commerce or customer analytics, including:
    • Customer journey analysis
    • Market basket analysis
    • Customer lifetime value (CLV) modeling
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
