Job description

Job Description

The Porter is responsible for the set-up and tear down of the venue. This includes moving and placing tables, chairs, decorations, and other items required for events. The porter maintains the organization and upkeep of the venue during business and non-business hours, with shifts starting as early as 6am and ending as late as 3am, including overnight shifts. The porter collaborates with servers to ensure the success of each event, assisting with duties as needed.

The Day to Day :

  • Prepare and set up the venue according to plans and client requests, ensuring attention to detail
  • Ensure the venue is fully prepared for the next event if responsible for the last shift before a breakfast event
  • Lead staff to ensure efficient and effective setup
  • Lift and move heavy and light objects safely and promptly
  • Tear down the venue after events, ensuring it is clean and maintained to Oliver & Bonacini standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the venue
  • Follow health and safety regulations
  • Receive and sign off on materials and shipments, notifying a manager of each
  • Greet and escort clients from the loading dock, offering assistance as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
